Businesses look at impact of two tunnels on economy

BUSINESSES in the borough have been looking at how two Tyne Tunnels will impact on the local economy.

Members of the North Tyneside Business Forum were joined by Trevor Jackson, managing director of TT2, at their ‘open forum’ session last week to talk about the opening of the second Tyne Tunnel, and its implications for the borough.

Mr Jackson discussed the effects on traffic flows on the A19 and other regional routes, and about increased opportunities for local skills transfer and enterprise within North Tyneside, as a result of the scheme.

Delegates also received an update from the forum chairman, Eric Donjon, on how the forum is progressing.

The forum is a group for North Tyneside businesses, run by local businesses.

Membership is free, and open to all borough businesses.
