LEADING north east voice and data specialist Executel Ltd has boosted its sales team with the appointment of 49-year-old Dean Horner from Whitley Bay.

The Gateshead-based company has appointed Dean as an account manager along with four others who together will help actively generate new business and drive forward sales across Executel’s extensive product portfolio which has recently expanded to incorporate hosted solutions including Hosted Exchange and Hosted Office Communications Server (OCS) as well as a range of IT support services.

Having previously run his own Leadership Management business and prior to that held a number of sales management roles within Vodafone, Orange, GE Capital and Lombard Business Finance, Dean has experience in a variety of industries which will serve him well in his new position.

Dean has been employed to work closely with Executel’s new strategic partner Hebburn-based Aspire Technology Solutions with which Executel has joined forces in order to offer customers an all-encompassing voice, data and IT support package. Dean has been given responsibility for selling the new IT services that Executel now offers which include data centre solutions, IT support, virtualisation, online backup and software development.

Of his new appointment, Dean said: “Executel has created a culture which is both customer and people centric. All members of staff display a ‘can do’ attitude with a strong, positive self-belief which is brilliant to see. The business has a ‘first time right’ approach and everyone lives and breathes the values of Executel.”

Mike Errington, sales manager for Executel added: “We are delighted to welcome Dean on board. By joining forces with Aspire, we can now offer our customers everything they need from one supplier which is a very strong position for us to be in as a business.

“Dean already has some knowledge of the communications market as well as a number of very good contacts within the north east business community. I’m therefore confident that he will be a valuable member of the Executel team and I wish him every success for his future with us.”
