Busy meeting for institute group

President Eileen Hair welcomed four new members and seven visitors to the November meeting of Bygate WI.

Reverend Jane Wood answered the question ‘What does she do all day’ with an entertaining and insightful talk and members were pleased to receive replies from Tynemouth MP, Alan Campbell and from Lord Curry of Kirkharle on the topic of the contentious Lobbying Bill.

Member, June Laidler was congratulated on raising more than £860 at her Christmas craft sale for Breast Cancer and Cancer Research.

Dates were confirmed for sports, walks, cinema, afternoon tea, Christmas lunch and the Coast meeting with Hannah Bayman describing ‘Four Seasons in the life of a Weathergirl’ in aid of the Children’s Heart Unit.
