Residents in North Shields are being invited to share any concerns with senior council officials.

Mayor Norma Redfearn is hosting an ‘Elected Mayor Listens Event’ on Tuesday, September 15.

She will be joined by cabinet members at North Shields Customer First Centre, Northumberland Square, from 6pm to 8pm to listen to what’s important to residents in the Chirton, Collingwood, and Riverside wards and answer any questions they have.

There will be an update from council officers about resurfacing works and major road works in the area as well as information on the regeneration of Northumberland Square and the Fish Quay.

Residents will also be able to hear about how dementia is affecting more people than ever and what we can do to help support friends, family and neighbours who may be affected.

Northumbria Police will also be on hand to discuss any issues residents may have.

Everyone who goes along to the event will have the opportunity to be entered into a free prize draw which will be picked later in the year.

For further information, or to ask a question in advance of this event, email norma.redfearn@northtyneside.gov.uk or telephone (0191) 643 5314, (0191) 643 7039, or (0191) 643 5468.

Refreshments will be available from 5.30pm.
