Young police cadets have been rolling up their sleeves to help in the community.
The youngsters carried out work at The Rising Sun Farm after finding out some areas needed sprucing up.
The farm trust has charitable status and a day centre farm within the Rising Sun Country Park, in Benton, for adults with special needs, which needed some attention.
The volunteer police cadets painted fences, picnic benches and animal pens after applying to O2’s Think Big Community Funding for £300 to buy paint and brushes, with help from B&Q.
Police Community Support Officer Kate Graham said: “The cadets spent a couple days at the centre really getting stuck in and have made a big improvement. They’ve had a lot of fun doing this project and are pleased it’s going to make a difference to the people who use this service.”
“Once again we’re proud of the work the cadets have done and it’s great it benefitting such a good cause.”
Matthew Sharp, Farm Manager said: “The Police Cadets were really useful and made a significant difference on the Rising Sun Farm.”
