A call is being made for nominations in the Halifax Giving Extra Awards, after a borough resident picked up one of the first awards earlier this year.
The awards have once again been launched to find local people who go the extra mile to give something back to their community.
Nadine Hollingsworth, from Monkseaton, was one of the first Halifax Giving Extra Awards winners announced earlier this year.
Nadine was recognised for her fund-raising for the Children’s Heart Unit Fund at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
Nominated by family friend Sarah Jones, Nadine had gone above and beyond for the people in her community by raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for the unit that saved her son Seb’s life.
Sarah said at the time: “Nadine is an inspiration, she never stops raising money and awareness for this charity.
“The courage she has shown and the comfort she has given to other heart parents never ceases to amaze me.”
Nominations can be made online at www.halifaxcommunities.co.uk/givingextraawards or in-branch until Sunday, November 23.
