A young people’s project in the borough has been given a cash boost to help disabled youngsters.
North Tyneside Disability Forum were visited by Greggs who visited the centre in Shiremoor to present a cheque to the forum’s Positive Young Peoples Project.
The money will be used to buy an ipad and internet access to enable young members to use social media, keep in touch, record their events and activities, as well as ensure information is lso accessible to blind and deaf members.
Chief officer of NTDF, Sue Adams, said: “Disabled young people want to be part of contemporary culture and social media, Facebook, website s for work etc, is something they are keen to access and make the most of.
“This cheque for £950 from Greggs is fantastic, as investment in disabled young people’s positive future lives is essential.”
