Charity in appeal for unwanted furniture

A CHARITY is appealing for unwanted furniture to help equip its newly opened distibution depot.

The Angels of the North has just opened the depot at Pegswood Industrial Estate and is now on the look out for unwanted office furniture.

The organisation partners with small charities in the area that face difficulties due to their size or lack of resources, and works to provide medical aid and the relief of hardship through grants, goods and services to those in need.

The charity’s latest base in Pegswood will serve south east Northumberland and joins Angels of the North’s network which already has distribution depots in North and South Tyneside.

Honorary chief executive Barbara Connors-Fowler said: “We will be taking delivery of over 2,000 toys over the next three weeks which we will be wrapped and stored at Pegswood ready for distribution to children in south east Northumberland in the run-up to Christmas.”

Anyone wishing to donate can contact Barbara on (0191) 253 0399 to arrange transport.
