Charity shop needs volunteers

Age UK’s Whitley Bay shop is launching a recruitment drive for volunteers to help it raise money for the national charity.

The Park View shop is one of 420 run by the charity nationwide.

Volunteers can help out both behind the scenes and on the shop floor, including serving customers, creating displays, managing stock donations and assisting with administrative duties.

A spokesman for the charity said: “The Age UK shop in Whitley Bay is reliant on the support of volunteers, so whether it’s for five minutes or five hours, we are delighted when anyone wants to support us.

“Not only will you meet new people and be a key part of the local community, but you will also be helping Age UK raise vital funds.”

“These enable us to deliver a range of services to help ensure older people can make the most of later life.

“If you would like to join us, just pop in and talk to us about how you can help.”
