A talented teenager from the borough has made it through to the regional finals of an open mic competition.
Fifteen-year-old Chloe Hill, from Wallsend, is now through to the live showcases of the Open Mic UK competition and will perform next on October 19.
Chloe’s mum Gill said: “After being unsuccessful at an audition for Teen Star, Chloe was even more determined to sing her heart out at Open Mic UK.
“Chloe has attended vocal coaching once a month for the past year and a half with Julie Miles and also rehearses with The Wallsend Community Choir.“
Events co-ordinator Chris Grayston said: “Every year that we hold this competition the bar is raised and the quality gets higher and higher.
“We’re really looking forward to experiencing the talent from across the country.
“For promising singers, songwriters, rappers and vocalists, Open Mic UK provides a real opportunity to open the door to a music career by showcasing their talent to music industry professionals and audiences across the country.”
Chloe is hoping to take a step closer to winning the main prize of £5,000.
