Whitley Bay Clinic, in Marine Avenue, held a special Supple Sunday trial offering sports massage at a discounted rate.

It proved a success, with massage therapists Jill Anderson and Ben Kennedy finding themselves both fully booked.

Clinic director Lisa Crowther said: “We proved very popular with manual labourers who often work away during the week but appreciated the opportunity to have a deep tissue massage then relax for the rest of the day and also the long distance runners who said they enjoyed doing their weekly long run on the Sunday morning then treated themselves to a well-earned sports massage.”

The clinic was named New Business of the Year at the North Tyneside Business Awards in December.
