Clowning around in town centres

SHOPPERS in North Tyneside’s three town centres are set to face lots of clowning around.

A clown will be hitting the streets of each town on Saturday to entertain shoppers with her juggling skills.

Called Meg, she will be in Whitley Bay from 10am to 11am, North Shields between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, and Wallsend from 2pm to 3pm.

The circus shows are organised by North Tyneside Council as part of its commitment to support town centre businesses.

Attractions lined up for next month include street performers, healthy eating promotions, a classic car display, a balloon-modelling competition and an exhibition of reptiles and creepy-crawlies.
