College hit by lead thefts three times in matter of weeks

Police are appealing for information after lead thefts from a North Tyneside college.

Tiles and lead flashing were stolen from Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College in North Shields, between 9pm on Saturday, September 21, and 7am on Monday, September 23.

The stolen property is distinctive in that it is purple in colour.

It is believed the theft is linked to two other lead thefts which happened between Wednesday, August 28, and Tuesday, September 3, and overnight between Tuesday, September 17 and Wednesday, September 18 at the same location.

Overall thousands of pounds worth of lead has been stolen in total.
