College students visit Auschwitz

Four students at Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College in North Shields are just back from a visit to the Auschwitz Nazi death camp in Poland.

The trip, paid for by the college and the Holocaust Educational Trust, was intended to give the students – along with Haley Crawford, of Wallsend, Katie Waddell, of Whitley Bay, and Carl Brown and Rosie Wright, both of North Shields – a better insight into Second World War history.

Denise Bolton, head of the college, said: “A trip such as this is invaluable to our students.”
