Community centre will be brought to book again

Donations are being sought for a fundraising book fair.

The Linskill Centre in North Shields is holding its second annual book fair this summer and is appealing for stock to sell.

Last year’s fair raised more than £2,500 for the Linskill Terrace centre and organisers hope to match that figure this year.

The fair will be held at the centre on Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3, from 10am to 3.30pm each day.

Money raised will help pay for the venue’s community media programme.

Chief executive, Simon Ripley said: “Last year’s book fair was an enormous success for the centre. The Trust would like to see this as a continuing annual event.”

Books can be left at the centre. Larger donations can be collected. Call (0191) 257 8000 for details.
