Community order for Geordie Shore star after assault with shoe

Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has been spared jail after admitting assaulting two people with her shoe.

Pattison, 26, threw her stiletto towards model Hannah Kelso, 20, after mistakenly believing she had thrown ice at her while in the House of Smith club in Newcastle last July.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that Pattison threw her shoe in the general direction of Miss Kelso after the trouble flared, leaving her with a cut to the face and a bruise to her forearm.

The shoe also struck security officer Victoria Burns, who had stepped in to try and stop the trouble, which left her with a lump to the forehead and a cut to the face.

Pattison, of Windsor Park, Wallsend, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after admitting two counts of assault.

She must also do 180 hours of unpaid work and pay £4,750 compensation and £1,500 costs.

Judge Brian Forster QC said Pattison’s behaviour on the night was “truly shocking” but accepted she was suffering emotional turmoil after a relationship break-up, and is now sincerely sorry.

He said: “It is clear from the information available you were extremely drunk.

“The probation report speaks of you having had some emotional difficulties at the time because of a breakdown in a relationship, and that caused you to drink over 10 pints of alcohol and shots of spirits.

“In such circumstances you lost control of yourself, sense and reason were abandoned, and you dealt with a simple situation by taking off your shoe and throwing it in the direction of those who you thought to be responsible.

“The effect of what you did has been considerable upon the victims in this case.”

He added: “I accept you are shocked by your own conduct. I accept you are remorseful for what took place.”

Anthony O’Donohoe, defending, said: “Through me she wishes to publicly apologise to the two individuals concerned.”
