Photographers of all ages and abilities are being invited to share their own pictures of Whitley Bay.

The best and most inspiring pictures, as chosen by a panel of local judges, will be displayed at the iconic Spanish City Dome site and other areas along the coast.

Mayor Norma Redfearn said: “This contest is a great opportunity for us to showcase all of the great things we love about Whitley Bay.

“It has a very special place in the hearts of so many, and is a place where many memories have been made, and continue to be made.

“We want our residents and visitors to share with us what Whitley Bay means to them and capture the best of this area of coastline on camera.”

The competition runs until Sunday, August 23. Entrants should submit a high quality photograph or photographs, along with a short description of each image, to marketing@northtyneside.gov.uk

Judging will take place on August 26, and participants will be informed shortly afterwards if their entries have been successful.
