People have started moving into Emmerson Court, a state-of-the-art complex in Shiremoor, following a multi-million pound takeover.

North Tyneside Council is holding two open days for anyone interested in living in the apartments – which are part of the authority’s £300m North Tyneside Living project.

Mayor Norma Redfearn said: “The North Tyneside Living project is going really well – we’re already almost half way through, with six new complexes built and another six existing ones refurbished to an exceptionally high standard.

“Over the last year or so, I’ve really enjoyed visiting the residents that have already moved in and hearing how happy they are in their new homes. The feedback we have had has been brilliant.

“I’d really encourage others interested in living at Emmerson Court to come and have a look around – I’m sure as soon they visit they won’t want to leave.”

The open days take place from 11am to 7pm on Thursday, July 28, and from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, July 30.

Emmerson Court consists of 42 one-bedroom apartments.

The apartments on the ground floor have semi-private patio areas and upper properties have bay windows while there is a bright, comfortable shared lounge, therapy room/beauty salon and a guest apartment.
