GREEN-fingered residents are being invited to take part in an annual competition aiming to brighten up the borough.
North Tyneside in Bloom, organised by North Tyneside Council, encourages people to take part in making the area a more attractive place to live.
This year’s competition will be judged across 15 different categories.
These will include individual allotment, business premises, gardens and a street effort category.
Coun Pam McIntyre, the council’s cabinet member for community engagement and the environment, said: “Enhancing the environment is one of the council’s top priorities.
“North Tyneside in Bloom is a great competition, which brings together communities and improves the appearance of our borough.
“We hope this year the contest will be as popular as ever and I would urge people to get involved and make a difference to their area.”
Entries close on Friday, June 8 and judging will take place throughout July.
Entry forms can be found in the council’s latest Widening Horizons magazine, which is delivered to all households in the borough and is also available at council facilities, including libraries, leisure centres and community centres.
Alternatively, a form can be downloaded from the council’s website at www.northtynside.gov.uk
