Creating care jobs

A thriving homecare service will create hundred of jobs as it reaches new areas.

North Shields-based EveryDay provides a range of care at home services to help people live independently, from short-term help to longer-term support.

Now the social enterprise, which is owned by Age UK North Tyneside, is looking to expand into South Tyneside and Gateshead and will more than double its 200-strong workforce with plans to take on another 360 care professionals in the next year.

Chief executive Alma Caldwell said: “We have seen a huge increase in demand for our services.”
