Equipment stolen from garden

BUILDING equipment worth more than £2,000 has been stolen from a Whitley Bay garden.

A JCB hydraulic chrome coloured breaker worth £1,975 and a steel bucket for a mini digger valued at £107.75 went missing from the garden at North Ridge.

It is thought that thieves went into the garden, which runs around the property, some time between 9pm on Tuesday, August 28, and 9am the following day.

The breaker is a generator unit measuring 80cm by 60cm by 60cm, with a one metre tall yellow hydraulic chisel attached.

Police say that due to the size and weight of the items, a vehicle would have been needed to take them away.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 ext 69191.
