Four arrested following North Tyneside shooting

FOUR people have been arrested in North Tyneside following a shooting in the car park of the Wheatsheaf pub in Benton on Friday night.

Colin Ferry was shot just after 5pm on Friday and is in hospital in a stable condition.

Police have said they believe Mr Ferry was targeted by his attackers and have reassured the community that it was not a random incident.

Three men and a woman have been arrested, with three being released on bail and one 47-year-old man still in custody.

Patrols in the area have been put in place and officers are urging anyone who may have been in the area of Great Lime Road and Benton Lane at the time to get in touch.
