Man has nose bitten in street attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 23-year-old man had part of his nose bitten off on Friday afternoon.

It happened on Whitley Road, in Benton at approximately 2.30pm on Friday, March 28.

The man was walking along the road towards ASDA when he was attacked by a group of men.

The injured man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary where he is receiving treatment.

Those involved in the incident are described as in their late teens to early 20s wearing grey tracksuits and made off into the nearby trading estate opposite ASDA.

Police are carrying out enquiries in the area and additional officers are on patrol to reassure the community.
