Man suffered facial injuries during robbery

A MAN is still being treated in hospital for serious facial injuries after he was robbed in a North Shields street on Friday.

The 38-year-old victim was attacked shortly after leaving the Premier Store in Widdrington Terrace.

The two perpetrators stole the victim’s mobile phone and wallet during the robbery, which took place at around 7.20pm.

Police believe there will have been other people in the area when the offence took place and are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact them.

The offenders are both described as white European men aged between 17 to 19 years. One is of medium build with short dark hair, wearing a white and dark coloured hooped top.

The second man was sitting on a mountain bike, he was wearing a light coloured grey hoody.
