A MAN who emerged naked from bushes in a North Tyneside business park is being hunted by police.

Wearing nothing but a scarf, he emerged from the bushes at Cobalt Business Park and ran past a woman.

The incident took place on Saturday at 5.15pm.

The man is described as white, with dark hair and in his 20s.

It was the first of two incidents of indecent exposure in the area over the weekend.

At 11.45am on Sunday a man exposed himself to a woman who was walking her dog along New York Road in Shiremoor before he ran off.

This man is described as being aged around 26, with short dark hair and of medium build.

Acting Chief Inspector John Smith, of North Tyneside area command, said: “Acts such as these are totally unacceptable and both women were left distressed by the encounters.

“We have increased patrols in these areas and our officers are viewing CCTV and making other enquiries to locate the offenders.

“Local residents can be reassured that we take any reports of this nature seriously and will act to bring those responsible to justice.”

Police said they are keeping an open mind as to whether the two incidents are connected.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers in North Tyneside on the 101 non-emergency number, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Crimestoppers may offer a reward for information which leads to an arrest and charge.
