Three charged after robbery in North Shields

Three men have been charged after a robbery in North Shields on Monday.

The raid took place between 4.36am and 5.48am on Monday, May 18, when men wearing masks approached a staff member at Chirton Service Station in Front Street.

The employee was punched by one of the men before they made off.

Nothing was stolen during the incident.

Three men, aged 45, 27 and 26 have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and appeared before North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Police said enquiries into the robbery are continuing.
