She said: “I was delighted to visit Cullercoats LTC as part of my tour of Northumberland tennis clubs. Cullercoats is a vibrant and welcoming club and embraces all that is great in British tennis.

“The three new artificial grass courts and the newly-refurbished clubhouse provide an excellent environment for all to learn and play our fantastic game.

“The extensive programme the club coach, Stuart Cass, provides for players of all standards and ages is to be commended.

“The club, under the chairmanship of Jeff Thompson, has a very dedicated and forward-thinking committee which ensures that it goes from strength to strength and, having recently celebrated its centenary, I wish everyone involved with Cullercoats LTC continued success in their next 100 years.”

“It was fantastic to be able to showcase our excellent facilities and coaching programme alongside demonstrating the enthusiasm and talents of some of our junior members, who are the future of the game.

“The visit has been a great start to our new season and we look forward to building on this success on and off court in the months ahead.”

New members are most welcome at Cullercoats which offers coaching opportunities, social play and competitive matches for all ages.
