Cullercoats '‹Tennis Club U10s '‹secure league'‹ title

Cullercoats mini tennis 10 and under team were victorious against a strong Sunderland Tennis Centre team to clinch the Northeast '‹W'‹inter '‹L'‹eague division 1 title.

Thomas O’Hara got the team off to a winning start​,​ serving well to win the ​No. 2 singles 4-0,​ ​4-2.​ ​Jess Hart also played well to take the ​No. 1 singles 5-3,​ ​4-2.

With Olly Cass and Sophie Jackson showing improved volleying to win the mixed ​doubles ​in straight sets​,​ Cullercoats went into the break ​three matches up.

Cass sealed the win with a 4-0,​ ​4-1 victory and Jackson battled hard against a tough opponent ​to win in straight sets also.

O’Hara and Hart wasted no time in their mixed​ match,​ winning 4-2,​ ​4-1 ​for a 6-0​ final score.

​Cullercoats ​won the league after victories over Durham Moor, Northumberland Club, Yarm and Sunderland Tennis ​C​entre. All the team are eligible for next season and also look forward to representing the club in full ball matches.
