A group of cyclists who saddled up for an epic challenge raised more than £5,000 for a child battling cancer.

The group, which regularly takes part in fundraising events, spent two days cycling 100 miles from Coldstream to North Shields.

It was raising money for three-year-old Hope Louise Feeney, who is undergoing treatment for neuroblastoma.

As well as the cycle ride, there was a ten-mile fancy dress walk from Seaton Sluice to Chirton Social Club in North Shields.

One of the organisers, Bryan Denley, said: “Personally I would like to thank everybody that took part or donated to Hope Louise and helped us raise £5,000.

“Also a big thanks to Chirton Social Club.”
