Next month Jason Burke and Northumbria Vikings skipper Gavin Parr will set out on a 140 mile Coast to Coast bike ride.

The duo will be taking on the route non-stop for 12 hours from Whitehaven to Tynemouth to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and Sheffield Hospitals Charity.

“We don’t have any tandem experience so the day will certainly be a tough one,” said Gavin, who races for the Cramlington based Northumbria Vikings.

The challenge has been launched to celebrate Jason’s five years clear from cancer.
