A care home has been praised by residents and their families.
Earsdon Grange, in Wellfield, Whitley Bay, performed strongly in a nationwide survey.
It was given an overall performance rating (OPR) of 903 out of 1,000 by the residents and 857 by their families and friends – beating the national averages of 880 and 828, resepctively, for the fourth year in a row.
Staff and residents raised a glass to their survey success as manager Nicola Bell thanked them for their help in the continued success of the home, which offers residential and dementia care to home residents and those needing a short break.
The Your Care Rating survey is the country’s largest survey of care home residents and their families and friends, with each home scored on staff and care, home comforts, choice and having a say, and quality of life.
Nicola said: “It’s great that not just our residents, but their families and friends, value the care they receive at Earsdon Grange.
“Most of our scores across the four themes are really positive.
“While we’re really pleased with our scores, we obviously want to get even better and the survey helps us do that by giving us direct resident and friends and family feedback.
“Families can also see at a glance which care homes are committed to raising standards and being transparent as they take part in the survey.
“Every care home resident, and their family and friends, should be able to speak up about their care and this is what the survey does.”
Operated by UK care group Countrywide Care homes, Earsdon Grange provides residential and Dementia care for up to 48 residents.
