A charity dog show is being held in North Shields this weekend to raise funds for a black labrador puppy called Toby.
Toby was born with defective hips, and his previous owner asked his vet to have him put to sleep.
But a lady from a rescue centre, Aniaid, heard about his plight and took him home.
A twitter campaign was then launched to raise the £5,000k needed for his operations.
He has gained many followers and supporters, amongst them, many other dogs, who have donated directly, offered to dress up for donations, done a photo shoot and tirelessly kept interest in him going.
To date, more than £3,000 has been raised, enabling one hip to be replaced.
Organisers are now hoping the dog show will help generate the additional revenue needed for his second operation and let Toby have a normal puppy life.
During the show, there will be a dogwalk (as apposed to catwalk) featuring six of his twitter pals, competitions, stalls, face painting, tombola, raffle.
The show will take place on Sunday, September 29, at the Linskill Centre, North Shields, from 1pm to 5pm, and all well behaved dogs are welcome.
