Eight from Wallsend's Bushido Judo Kwai in the medals

Eight junior members from Wallsend's Bushido Judo Kwai took part in the Blyth Juno Michi Open Judo Championship at Benfield Sports Centre recently.

The competition attracted judoka from all over the region and produced an excellent standard.

The Bushido Judo Kwai team consisted of Lydia Bamford, who won a gold medal, Jessie Beckingham, who won a silver Jake Taylor, Callum Taylor, Adam Bamford, Lewis Andrews and Millie Williams, who all won bronze medals, and Jack Barnett, who won a runner-up medal.

The Bushido Judo Kwai train at Kings Residents’ Association, Milfield Avenue, Kings Estate, Wallsend, on Monday and Friday evenings.
