A WALLSEND woman celebrated her 100th birthday last week.
Eliza Stout was born in the town on November 20, 1912, and was the second of three children.
She was a pupil at the town’s Carville Girls School and went on to work in the Double N Factory as a line supervisor.
Eliza married Eddie in 1931 and they had three children, Barbara, Ken and Eddie.
Eddie sadly died at the age of 33.
Eliza lived in Wallsend all of her life, with the furthest she has travelled being Ayr on the west coast of Scotland.
The great-grandmother of 21 celebrated her special day with family and friends at Redesdale Court in North Shields, where she is now a resident.
