A special event is being held to showcase the help and support available to ex-services personnel and their families.
Organisations will be on hand to talk informally to people in the ex-services community about the support they can offer.
The event will take place at the John Willie Sams Centre, in Dudley, on Friday, November 13, from 2pm to 4pm.
This new-style networking afternoon is the idea of the council’s Armed Forces Champion, Coun Gary Bell, who wants to bring providers and ex-service personnel together under one roof to discuss the offers.
He said: “After leaving the forces, the transition back to civilian life can present real challenges for some people.
“Here in North Tyneside, the council has always supported and honoured the work of our armed forces and we are committed to helping both the serving and the ex-services communities and their families.
“By coming along to this informal event in the John Willie Sams Centre, members of our armed forces family will have a fantastic opportunity to find out first hand what is on offer to help and support them.”
Drinks and a buffet will be provided at the event.
Future meetings will be hosted at Customer First Centres in North Shields, Wallsend, Whitley Bay and Killingworth.
