A CRACKING range of events are being held to keep youngsters entertained over the Easter holidays, particularly for children with disabilities or additional needs.
Free activities include adventure play, cinema days, a ‘royal’ picnic, trampolining classes and sporty sessions.
On Thursday, April 28, the Rising Sun Country Park is hosting a ‘Not the Royal Wedding’ prince and princess fancy dress picnic, featuring a disco, face painting and other fun.
The adventure playground, in Shiremoor, is holding playscheme sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays over the Easter holidays.
Elaine Carty is looking forward to making the most of the Easter break with her eight-year-old daughter Hannah, who has complex health needs.
She said: “There is always a nice range of activities on offer to choose from and we normally get involved as much as we can.
“Hannah really enjoys socialising with other children, trying out new things and seeing new places.”
