An art exhibition is being held to raise money to support children around the world.
Emma Nelson was moved to put on the event after seeing pictures of children in Syria suffering during the recent conflict.
She is holding Art With A Big Open Heart Exhibition at the Exchange, in Howard Street, North Shields, to raise money for Save the Children.
It is being launched on Friday, July 15, with artists and crafters invited to donate art – with most of it available to buy.

Emma said: “Interest is growing daily, with donations coming in thick and fast. Tynemouth Market Traders have contributed a large majority of arts and crafts; local art groups, businesses have also been very generous.”
“Staff at the Exchange are also volunteering their time and amazing venue; I’m just so grateful and overwhelmed by everyone’s contributions!”
At the launch event there will complementary wine, canapes, live music and entertainment; with prizes to be won.
There will be free kids art sessions from 11.30am to 1pm on the Saturday and Sunday as the exhibition continues.
