Pupils were left captivated by a slam dunk of a visitor to their school.
Fabulous ‘Fab’ Flourney, player coach at Newcastle Eagles, entertained pupils at Marden High School in Cullercoats during a visit last week.
Fab captivated 150 Year 9 and 10 boys with an inspirational talk about his own childhood and how, against all the odds, he achieved international sporting success.
Headteacher Jonathan Morris said: “This is all part of our commitment to ‘Raising Boys’ Achievement’ which is a national initiative.
“It didn’t involve writing or research, it was just an hour of pure entertainment designed to inspire our students to go out and achieve their goals, which I am sure will stay with them for many years to come.”
