Fair to help raise funds for special school

A summer fair is being held to raise money for a special school.

Woodlawn School, in West Monkseaton, is holding the event on Saturday, June 28, from noon to 3pm.

It has been organised by the Woodlawn Parents & Friends Association and entertainment for the younger audience will be provided by the piratical Captain Raggybeard.

Stalls will include tombolas, a Bottle Lotto for adults, chocolate tombola, a silent auction and a raffle featuring prizes donated by various businesses, residents and organisations.

Woodlawn’s Sixth Form Enterprise Group will be running a Pamper Van.

And organisers are hoping to have a pair of stocks at the event and some wet sponges where pupils can take their revenge on members of staff – at a price.

Food will be available in the form of a barbeque, beverages, cakes, confectionery, crisps and ice-cream.

Woodlawn, in Drumoyne Gardens, is a school for children from 2 to 19 years old with physical, medical and sensory needs.

Children attend from North Tyneside, Newcastle and Northumberland.
