A beauty salon is holding a Christmas raffle to raise money for a charity following the death of a homeless man in Whitley Bay.
Yumi Beauty, based in Healthlands Gym in Whitley Lodge, has put together a luxury hamper which they are raffling off to raise money for Depaul UK.
They were inspired to help the charity following the death of a homeless man in Whitley Bay and help keep others warm this winter and off the streets.
The hamper features a range of prizes donated by local businesses including a full body massage, hair cut, gym membership, physiotherapy session, gift vouchers and more.
They will draw the winner on Christmas Eve.
Owner Kim Anderson said: “We decided its time we do something to help, especially at this time of year.
“This time of year it is important to think of people who need help and support when the weather is taking a turn for the worst.
“We chose to support Depaul UK as they not only help homeless people day to day with housing, warm clothes etc, but they also offer support, training and help to prevent them from ending up on the streets in the first place.”
