Residents in North Tyneside are finding the feel good factor in a new monthly gathering.
The Comfy Cuppa Club has been set up by the North Tyneside Social Prescribing Service to show how the benefits of social and physical activity can boost health and wellbeing.
It links social activities with relaxation and refreshments in a friendly atmosphere.
The first meeting attracted 30 people and included a free prize draw for a ‘happiness hamper’, including books, teas and other relaxing gifts.
Social prescribing assistant manager Sam Adamson said: “It was great to see people who had never met before interact with each other to form friendships. The activities really helped bring everyone together and put a smile on their faces.”
