Flipping good time at home

Care home residents enjoyed a flipping good time as they joined in the Shrove Tuesday celebrations.

Residents at Earsdon Grange care home, in Wellfield, Whitley Bay, enjoyed sampling pancakes and crepes with a variety of toppings before taking part in the home’s annual pancake toss competition.

After lunch, competing residents and staff gathered with pancakes and frying pans at the ready.

Everyone had the opportunity to have a go at tossing a pancake – although some contestants were better than others, with pancakes flipping and flying everywhere.

Care manager Nicola Bell said: “We are very proud of our activities programme and Pancake Day is a real favourite among residents.

“It gives us all an excuse to enjoy some delicious pancakes and toppings, and our pancake tossing competition is always a lot of fun.”
