Former Newcastle star gets his legs waxed ahead of 3,500 mile charity bike ride – Video

FORMER Newcastle defender Robbie Elliott’s been back on the treatment table - but this time it’s been to get his legs waxed.

In preparation for his 3,500 mile Bike For Bobby cycle ride between the eight clubs, in four countries, managed by Sir Bobby Robson, Robbie Elliott and his cycling partner Phil Gray have been losing their leg hair.

The point of the painful exercise is to improve hygiene and assist sports therapy regimes which they’ll both need to go through as they cycle a mammoth 200 miles per day as part of the ride.

Joined by close friends and family, both men howled as they lost their hair to strips of hot wax.

Bike For Bobby will see Robbie and Phil cycle from Lisbon to Newcastle via Porto, Eindhoven, Ipswich and London (Fulham and Wembley) in less than four weeks as they pay tribute to Sir Bobby and raise funds to fight cancer.

The ride will raise funds for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Breakthrough Breast Cancer and begins in October.
