Young and old came together to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

North Tyneside Disability Forum held a special event at its Shiremoor Centre base in Earsdon Road.

More than 30 people enjoyed a number of activities on the day.

The ‘Sing and Song’ group performed a number of popular Irish tunes before a lunch of chip butties following jokes by Matthew Hall. Alan Bayliss led a quiz on St Patrick and St David before Albert Mead rounded things off with a sing-a-long of Irish songs.

More events are planned by the forum.

The next Friday event is an ‘Easter Eggstravaganser’, on Friday, March 27.

Taking place at the centre from noon to 3pm, visitors can decorate an egg or take along an Easter bonnet for a Easter Parade.
