Team Fostering, which has a North Shields office, retained its ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Inspectors found children and young people are making significantly better progress and achieving more than what was expected in their lives.

The agency was praised for its inspirational and ambitious leadership and management and an exceptional quality of service resulting in outstanding experiences, progress and outcomes for children and young people.

Inspectors said: “Children and young people are happy.

“They feel settled and cared for, and they enjoy a whole range of activities, and have access to many opportunities that they may otherwise not have had.

“Both the agency and the foster carers ensure that children and young people have the best opportunities to make progress and to develop into adults.”

Rachael Johnson, Team Fostering assistant director, said: “We are very proud to have retained our Outstanding rating. To have the hard work and commitment of everyone at Team Fostering recognised by Ofsted is a fantastic achievement.”

Inspectors added: “It is very clear that only the right carers, who can meet the needs of the children and young people referred for placement, are put forward.”

Ofsted went on to praise the E-Spire team, who provide support to children and young people at Team Fostering, and how they play “a really active part in encouraging appropriate educational placements”.

Team Fostering has been providing foster carer placements for children and young people in local authority care for the last 15 years.

It’s not for profit status means that it has no shareholders and no profits are distributed. All surplus funds gets reinvested back into support and services for foster carers and children and young people.
