A FUN morning is being held next week about food for people over 50.
Age UK North Tyneside’s Fit as a Fiddle project is a short course led by two local volunteers, Val Wilson and Dorothy Cole, who have recently completed their Level 2 training in Healthier Food and Special Diets.
Val said: “We really enjoy talking about good food with the participants, having a close look at what the labels really mean and how to make the best choices.
“Our first sessions went down well, with all the people who came along learning something new and deciding to think more healthily when they go shopping for food.”
Join in the Fit as a Fiddle with Food session between 10am and noon on Wednesday, May 25, at the Salvation Army Hall, Union Street, Wallsend.
The sessions are only £1.50 for people 50and over, and this includes refreshments as well. Places are limited and can be booked by calling Charly Mulvaney on (0191) 293 9142.
