Carnival organiser Carol Alevroyianni said: “As well as ticket information people are asking about this year’s dress code and of course you don’t have to dress up but it does add to the fun.
“We are hoping to see some big hair, big shoes, big flares or big shoulders to fit with the 2018 Carnival ‘big’ theme.
“It’s 100 years since the end of World War One, 50 years since the Broadway debut of the musical HAIR so it feels like it’s a year to think big.”
“This is an invitation to reinvent the big night out so do bring your gran, keep the kids up and put them on your shoulders, dress to impress, we want to see your moves so catch them and share them with us @saltoarts on Instagram or post on the Whitley Bay Community Carnival Facebook group.”
