Funding must be made available

You quoted the elected major, last week, as saying that the council’s successful work with troubled families reflected the ‘dedicated work of our Family Partners and other professionals’.

I can attest to this.

However, what she fails to point out is that the council are steadily cutting back on funding for this work and, in effect, demanding ever more for ever less!

If she is sincere about meeting her targets of turning round all of these families by 2015, she must ensure that sufficient funding is made available.

If this is not done then her words are mere rhetoric.
