A fundraising event is being held to thank a hospital unit and celebrate an all-clear with cancer.
Dennis and Susan Fearon are holding the event at Percy Park Rugby Club, in North Shields, to support the oncology department at North Tyneside General Hospital.
Susan, who used to run the Holystone Inn, was diagnosed with cancer last September but after treatment was given the all clear last week.
Dennis, who lives in Seaton Sluice, said: “It’s been a hard year. We would like to show appreciation and to have a celebration with friends and raise some funds on behalf of the unit who were fantastic.
“We just want to give something back.
“We would love to get a substantial final fundraising figure and if that helps other people who need to use the unit then that will be great.”
The event will take place on Sunday, September 20, from 2pm.
Former singers and groups who used to perform at the Holystone Inn will be at the event.
There will also be a raffle and auction, with prizes including boxing gloves and shorts from Ricky Hatton.
Tickets are £5, with 200 printed in advance, and also available on the door.
