North Tyneside Disability Forum’s (NTDF) Youth Project has received a range of arts and crafts materials, thanks to the Northumbria Police Charities Fund.

Afshin Malekain, community engagement officer at NTDF, approached the police fund to help secure resources and materials to support its work with children and young people aged seven years and up.

Braille paper, clay and mod rock, pens, crayons, paints and fabrics are all in place thanks to the fund, which will enable the group to run activities across evening term time and half-term holiday periods.

Sue Adams, chief officer, said: “We are really grateful to Afshin for his support and hard work.

“It’s this sort of help that makes the range of projects we run, possible. The materials will benefit around 120 young people of all abilities and disabilities.”

NTDF is wholly reliant upon charitable trust monies.
